MP Dean Del Mastro to host Passport Clinic
November 23, 2007

Saturday, December 1, 2007 from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm
Peterborough Sport and Wellness Centre - 775 Brealey Drive in Peterborough

The clinic will be held on a first come first served basis.  Passport Canada officials will be on hand to answer questions about the application process, review passport applications and accept completed applications for processing.  There will be a photographer on-site that will take pictures for a nominal fee.  Although there is no additional cost to attend a Passport Clinic, the fees for processing a passport are as follows; $22.00 for children under 3, $37.00 for children aged 3 to 15 years and $87.00 for adults (16 years of age or over).  The following are the only acceptable methods of payment for passports at this clinic: certified cheque, money order (postal or bank) made payable to the Receiver General of Canada, VISA, MasterCard and American Express.  Payment by cash or debit will NOT be accepted on site.  Passport Canada recently launched two new initiatives:

  • A Simplified Passport Renewal Process allowing Canadians who currently hold a valid passport, and who meet eligibility criteria, to be able to renew it without submitting proof of citizenship or a guarantor declaration.
  • A New Guarantor Policy allowing most Canadian adult passport holders to act as guarantors for first-time applicants.

For more information on these initiatives, please visit Passport Canada's Web site at www.passportcanada.gc.ca or talk to a Passport Officer on-site at the clinic.  Passport application forms can be obtained ahead of time at the MP’s Constituency Office, any Passport Canada office, Service Canada Centre or Canada Post office.  The form can also be downloaded from Passport Canada's Web site.

For more information, constituents are encouraged to call the office at (705) 745-2108 to find information about Passport Canada and the application process.
