MP Dean Del Mastro recognizes the Calendar Kids of 2008.

As your Member of Parliament for the Peterborough Riding, I was pleased to provide you with my 2008 MP’s Community Calendar earlier this year.

The drawings that were included in the calendar were the result of an exciting contest held among the elementary schools in the Peterborough Riding. Students were asked to create a picture using the theme “What I love about my community.” I am very proud of the result and I know that you will agree that we have some great talent here in our riding.

We received many excellent drawings and it was clear judging them would be tough, so we called upon three local celebrities to help us out. Special thanks to Lois Tuffin, Editor-in-Chief - Peterborough This Week, George Gall, News Director - CHUM Kawarthas and Ken Armstrong, Political Analyst - TVCogeco. Our judges had the difficult, but enjoyable task of picking out the drawings and I thank them for choosing some wonderful representations of our riding.
